Named after the cell that builds bone, Osteo DPE™ (Data Processing Engine) provides user with the ability to build data processing flows, which can enable data solutions across a variety of use cases, markets and tool suites. As a framework product, Osteo DPE™ can:
Osteo DPE™ is all about flexibility, adapting to many different data flows - from sensors and data annotation, to network streams and database archival - it can adapt to virtually any data format and flow. At its core, Osteo DPE™ is a plugin-based framework, with plugins supporting the core functionality. Whether it's network data transport, interfacing to a database, or reading data from a specific sensor - a new capability is available with a new plugin, with automatic support of the features of the rest of the engine.
With our ever-growing plugin library, additional capabilities are always expanding.
Whether your deployment targets are host servers or containers, cloud instances or embedded Linux systems, Osteo DPE™ can adapt to multiple deployment types and architectures. This allows Osteo DPE™ to easily transition from a field or prototyping platform, to a full-blown operations environment with exceptional ease. Osteo DPE™'s ability to incorporate the "test-as-you-fly" paradigm works from testing the hardware and simple network interfaces, to "flying" the constellation or enterprise.
Osteo DPE™ is highly focused on metrics - with most numeric entities published as a Prometheus metrics. This enables Osteo DPE™ metrics to be worked into larger Enterprise-level workflows/dashboards, or using Prometheus' AlertManager flows, enabling a more complete operational picture.
Additionally, any Status or Metric entity can be attached to a series of Limits, giving a label to ranges or states to those entities. This allows an easy visual evaluation of metrics/status within a data flow, making it easy for an operator to say, "Oh, that rate is too low - let's diagnose", or alert on some value.
In conjunction with limits, certain limits can flag Events, an asynchronous notification, or Alarms - which are Events that can have additional meaning and require user action. With support for auto-clearing Alarm conditions, Osteo DPE™ streams those Events/Alarms to the web-based user interface (UI) or over to Osteo Orchestrator, providing expanded monitoring capabilities.
Rebranding Osteo DPE™ for your business enables small-businesses to dramatically expand technical offerings, whether network-based appliances or cloud-based offerings. Osteo DPE™ provides granular Role-based Access Controls (RBAC), multi-factor authentication (MFA) and API-based monitor and control features to your products out of the box. Coupling Osteo DPE™ with the skill-sets of our engine and UI engineers/developers, we can create a white-labeled platform that your organization can use to propel your offerings forward - setting you up for success.
