Dana Irvin (Dirv) - President / CTO

Dirv has over 20 years of experience in multiple software development domains, from backend systems, to user interfaces and embedded systems. His primary focus has been in the data processing and embedded systems areas. His breadth of knowledge and experience allows him to engage in all aspects of a project’s life cycle, and often helps development processes get back on track.

Dirv founded Necara after an extended career in the aerospace sector, as well as time at another software consulting firm, working across in various industries. His primary expertise is in the satellite data transport domain, working on various software products and system integrations for various NASA and NOAA Earth observation and weather monitoring missions. He has performed in various roles; from development engineer to Technical Lead, and executed duties as Subject Matter Expert (SME) for multiple subsystems on multiple projects/missions. His continuing focus is on each individual project’s “mission” - to fulfill the mission objectives and meet/exceed the mission’s value proposition and purpose to its stakeholders.

Dirv regularly works with customers in a Technical Lead or Project Architect role, in addition to leading Necara’s R&D functions and roadmaps. He adapts well into whatever role is required, and can easily integrate into existing, highly skilled development teams, and help provide technical guidance. He combines a deep technical expertise with strong interpersonal skills, allowing his teams to solve difficult technical issues, as well as provide management digestible information needed to plan and execute business objectives in order to move their projects, products, and missions forward.
